Thomas Severinius grew up in the southern Dutch city of Heerlen, where books quickly became his refuge and imagination became a daily companion. The first fantasy novel he ever read was The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, long before he realised it belonged to a much larger world.
In his early twenties he studied geography in Nijmegen, where he also came out and spent years doing voluntary work within the queer community. These experiences shaped his belief that even when society casts you aside, the path to becoming a hero still exists, a theme woven deeply into his writing.
Before returning to fiction, Severinius worked for many years in hospitality and later in marketing and sales. Throughout it all he continued writing short stories, fascinated by werewolves, vampires and worlds where the extraordinary hides beneath the ordinary.
He now writes epic fantasy with rich world-building and queer love at its centre. Fire & Dust is his debut novel in development.
